SHANE + BOESMAN
Graduating 04/09/2011
Cant wait for the boys's return. Boesman did 6 mths, Shane 4.
They will come and stay in the Jesus can house. I have known Shane for 6 years on and off. It has been amazing to watch how the Lord made Himself known to him. Shane was sponsored by the TGIF mens group that meets on a Friday morn 05:45 , Bergsig . I pray that they will continue to walk with Shane . Boesman finished 6 months of disciple school and i am especially gratefull to our Father for Boesman. I would like you all to invite him to come and testify to your group as well as in Church. Boesman spend 18 years on the streets of Cape Town. His knowledge of the streets combined with the young business men in our area connected to the Churches in our area. Lets all of us hear what Boesman has to say about our streets and what he thinks might help .
JESUS CAN HOUSE - DURBANVILLE
SAAMWERK IS GOD SE WERK.
BARBARA - Doing great. She made some of her note books with hand painted pictures. They are cool. Will send photo when i figure out how to ... On the Jesus can video clip she thanks Durbanville for their help to her and her husband when they were forced to stay in their old Merc behind the Spur here in Durbanville. Barbara will be staying on for Sept here by us until we get her a position to take care of someone in their house if they are ill.
JEANETTE - Had a great challenge in her young age. Stop smoking. She is 66 and has been smoking for like 50 years...loooong time...She did very well as we were staying in my daughters home in Vredehoek in C.T. Leaving our buddy "cigarette" was not easy...is not easy as i will return home tonite after 4 days, no cigarette. Pray for us u all...we need the help.
VISITORS : BELINDA AND JACK - While out with Gehard and his camara in Durbanvilles streets we find Belinda and Jack. She had an appointment with Stikland but did not want to go on the day. Jack also wants to go. They stayed over on Sat evening and went to Church with us on Sun. They feature on the video clip .
KOOS - Went for a home visit last w.end. His home town is Saron. We gave him lots of presents for his girls he has not seen for 6 years. Daughters 22 and 12 as well as a three year old granddaughter. They said to him , he needn't have brought presents as him being there is present enough. Please always remember us in your prayers.
PIETER - Mello...doing very well. His chest also sounds better. Doesnt want to give me some of his money for rent. Looks like he is gonna become the boss over the roster, he will have to make sure that everybody does their chores.
BYRON - Our star landscaper. We got some more paving bricks and gravel for Byron's pathway through his chilli garden. Thanx to Gerhard for all the landscaping odds and sodds.
MARTIN - Left last Thursday and returned on Sat. He missed his children. We surply all that might be needed to stand up but it will always stay each's own choise.
STIKLAND / Alcohol treatment centre
THEO - Will be staying with us this weekend. It is his "out weekend" from his 3 week treatment. We fished him from MES. Theo is a silkscreen printer and we have had the dream to start our own T-Shirt printing business.
IVAN - Has been staying for 1 year at the shelter in Elsies. He went to Stikland out of his own after some time on the streets. Ivan has been sober for a year and deserves the chance to see his dreams come true. I haven't forgotten you broe, hope you can come stay a while.
Lots of excitement going on this past 2 weeks. We moved the guys into the dormitory. We seem to fit 8 of our guys in. The landlord still has 3 of his guys in the dormitory. So there will be 11 in total. This makes the whole hall alot smaller than i thot. Anyway, we will just have to be clever in the design for packing space and writting pad for each bed. Nice little project for us all to learn about carpentry.
The guys has been tranforming our garden into something even the Jones'es will be jealous off. We did some work at Magdelena's Huis. The guys have to learn to give to others as was given to you. They cleaned the gutters and the windows for the girls. This week they will do their garden. Magdelena Huis is for pregnant teens. Thanx for the oppertunity to prove our usefullness.
The guys also got 3 permanant gardens so far. Our own vegetable patch is slowly but surely making progress.
"What our Father has started in Durbanville, no man will be able to stop.
Since Monday morning i have had to live without my beloved cigarette. My mom and i came to stay in my daughters flat. NO CIGARETTES. Today is Thursday eve and i am on my way home to the garage. Please carry me in your prayers becoz i still feel very weak. Please Lord, i need you help, i cant, pls U can !!!
I have had lots of phone calls this last week of people that wanted to come and pop in. This weekend will be busy by the sounds of everything. Theo will arrive tomorrow eve for the weekend and Boesman and Shane , i will fetch them in
Vredenberg on Sunday morn.
It has been an amazing time the past few weeks. Everybody is coming together just as our Father promised it would happen. The Churches pass the message on to their congregations and they are being mobilised. Old friends come to show face and the presence of the awesome Holy Spirit hovering over us is enough exitement for eternity. Thank you for your favor Father. Bless all who blesses the poor, answer the calls of those who answers the calls of others. We love you dearly and it is an absolute honor to work for U. Please call on us any time...we are available...day and nite.
Report 13 - 17 August
EL PETRA RESTORATION CENTRE- VREDENBURG
BOESMAN + SHANE – ALL WELL.
STIKLAND ALCOHOL TREATMENT CENTRE
JACK – Will be phoning again on 19/08/11 for intake date. He has to wait till after his appointment at Tygerberg hospital for the removal of stitches and cast. He has decided not to wait for his girlfriend Belinda. Hopefully he will she will be encouraged by his example. He said he was encouraged by Pieter that is staying by us. Nice to see the guys that has been there encouraging the guys on the streets.
JESUS CAN GARAGE AND DORMITORY
JEANETTE – Doing well. Still struggles with her breathing but i will take her away soon for 5 days so we can both stop smoking. She is a superstar as far as cleaning and cooking goes and is such a help to me with all the people here. BARBARA – After warning her that i am going to take her back to the shelter at the end of the month she is a bit more helpful. She does not like to listen to the rules and regulations but will quickly change when she realises that i am serious about taking her back.
NATANYA – Refuses to listen to the rules (which is not much). Continually leaves the premises with “friends” and returns after the gates are locked at 9. She was brought home one evening by the police after she was stranded in Goodwood. It does not look like she has used but if she continues the way she does i will have to let her go. She has registered with FDC to do the lifeskills course and after that the computer and office admin course. We have some great opportunities for her but if she is going to utelise it is totally up to her. The problem with using drugs is that if you start at 16 and stop at 21 you will still have the mentality of a 16 year old.
JEANENE – When for an interview again but still no job. Please if you have a secretarial job for her , let me know. We will be moving her out of the caravan and into the woman’s dormitory soon so we can move the 2 street guys into the caravan so they can cook their own food and learn to live without assistance.
MARTIN – Was brought to us by his employer. He has a TIK problem. He will be staying for a month without working and then another month while working. He is an abselute star and is helping us with the building of a second shower and some general repair work. After 2 months he will return home. We take him and our guys to a weekly drug/alcohol support group in Kraaifontein. (PADA Ministries). I take my hat off for you Brent, you are an employer of note. Helping Martin instead of firing him will pay off for you in the long run. He is a great person and a pleasure to have around.
KOOS – Worked at Hesters place this week. He will be going home to Saron this weekend where he will see his 2 daughters for the first time in 6 years. He also has a 3 year old granddaughter whom he will meet for the first time. Bergsig helped us with his travelling money and the days work at Hester provided for spending money. We also got some really nice gifts for his girls from the store at Bergsig. To all the people that sends stuff to that store...i wish i could really show you how much you spread the love of Jesus with your things you don’t need anymore. The sweetest toys and things that Koos is going to take to his grand daughter is going to make he fall in love with him instantly. He is very nervous about this visit as you can well imagine so please remember him in your prayers. Wetook him to meet with his old employer at VAN DEN BERG WHOLESALE NURSERY in Muldersvlei last Saterday and he received the grandest welcoming ever. Toos offered him his job back in September. God is seriously GREAT !!!
PIETER – Doing well. Chest still bad but TB tests came out clear so Bergsig community don’t fear when he coughs in church, its just a cough. We are helping him to contact his family members slowly but surely. We will also make up gifts for his grandchildren and we will go to Paarl some time to take him to visit them. He has encouraged JACK to go to Stikland so he is our star disciple of the week.
BYRON – Another star. He has transformed our garden into a art piece. He so obviously should be working for a landscaping company. He is so artistic and uses his own imagination to its fullest. He fits in great with the other guys and has been opening up nicely at the support group. We have advertised that we will do garden service for less than others and we will be working as a team so that people can trust us . We have got 1 garden already...thanks Auret Voster. We also told Hester that we will do Huis Magdelena garden twice a month at no charge so that we can give back also.
TEAGAN – Has gone to visit his sister for a few days. We are working on getting him back into a school and we connected him with Mr. Auret Voster for male guidance...something he desperately need.
CHURCH NEWS.
BERGSIG – Thanx once again for the soup and also the “lekker” Woolworths food we got this week. They also gave us a big fridge which we are so gratefull for. Whoever it was that gave it to the church...thank you soooo much, we appretiate it and will take good care of it. Also thanks for the gifts for Koos family. They also paid for Byron, Koos and Natanya to get ID’s which does not come cheap anymore. Mr. Auret Voster from Practical Packaging has offered his help on the business side of our project and i personally couldn’t have come this far without his help as far as how to get what i need. He has also commited to taking young Teagan under his wing as we need to help this young man into a prosperous future.
NG MOEDERGEMEENTE – Ds. Andre has said yes to helping us with our vegetable and herb garden. They will help us to get the tools, seeds, compost. Gerhard Dekkers from UMZI PLANT HIRE will give us the compost at a good price and has also offered his compost to us to sell. We are planning to get a stand on the corner of Fairtrees and Langeberg where we will sell compost as well as vegetables and vegetable and herb plants. Fred Fehrsen from Durbanville Engineering also from the NG church will pop in next week to assist us in the planning of our garden.
GATEWAY METHODIST CHURCH – Grant Hobkins came to visit and they have taken on the project to help us install an extra shower and fix the other toilet so that there is enough for both girls and boys. This works out perfect as Martin is here to do the work. Grant also promised to get us somebody to come and run a cell group for us here by our place. Something desperately needed.Thank you very much for you help and also for your encouraging Grant. May our Father bless you and your congregation as you bless the least.
Thanx Adriana for offering to come and do a revelations Bible study here by us every 2nd Wensday. I appretiate your help as i can not get to everything needed to help these people back to prosperous lives.
Thanx Gerhard for your interest and also for giving me a glimpse of the exciting thing the Lord has planned for Durbanville. You have awakened again the vision of old that Durbanville will be a blueprint of a united working Christian community for all to follow. If i may be so blunt as to say what is on our Father’s heart it will be “ well done MY children...you are doing great and I AM soooo proud of you”.
Thanx Mariette from the Global Prayer Village for your time in coming to see some of our house guests and assisting them to freedom in Christ Jesus. Jy is nou maar altyd n staatmaker.
My next mission is to get the support of the Catholic, Prespetarian and Anglican Churches. As you know by now, the mission our FATHER send me on was to get the Churches of Durbanville to all get involved in the same project so that they can experience unity. Slowly but surely we are gaining groung. The ones that has not replied will continually receive our reports once a week. Thank you Basil from the Babtist Church for making contact with us. To the other...just send us an e.mail to say you enjoy the news of the growth of our mission. Contribute through prayer or at least let your congregation know about the project. There are always people sitting in Church that wishes they could be a part of some project. Our project is great for them as they can pop in at any time to just come and say hallo. Come for a cup of tea with the ladies here. Bring an old wooden furniture piece for the guys to restore. We are not in the begging business. With the help of the Holy Spirit we will come up with ideas to make our own living as we would like to buy our own food and pay our own rent. All we ask is come and meet us so that you can all see that we are just the same as you and also loved by our Father just like you. We have been lost but we have also been found, washed clean by the blood of Jesus and now it is up to this community to make us feel accepted as we know we are accepted by our Father in heaven thanks to the love of Jesus.
